Cheadle Town Football Club Announces New Chairman and Head of Operations

Cheadle Town FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Dave Swindells as the club's new Chairman and Jonothan Gains as Head of Operations, marking an exciting new chapter in the club's development both on and off the pitch.

The appointments reflect the club's ambition to continue building a sustainable future while strengthening its commitment to supporters, volunteers, players and the wider Cheadle community.

As Chairman, Dave Swindells will provide strategic leadership, working closely with the club's leadership staff to oversee the long-term vision and growth of Cheadle Town Football Club and the facilities at Park Road. With a passion for grassroots football and a commitment to driving the club forward, he will play a key role in shaping the club's future.

Joining the leadership team as Head of Operations, Jonothan Gains will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the club, ensuring that matchdays, facilities, volunteers and operational activities are managed efficiently. The role will be instrumental in supporting players, coaching staff and supporters while helping to deliver the highest standards across the club.

Speaking on the appointments, Dave Swindells said:

"I am honoured to take on the role of Chairman at such an exciting time for the club. There is a fantastic group of people involved, who are a credit to the previous ownership. I look forward to working alongside everyone to continue developing the club both on and off the field. I am also very excited to be working closely with Stockport County Women FC who will share our facilities here at the Ground Up Solutions Stadium. Together, we will strive to create high-quality inclusive facilities that players, coaches, supporters and the wider community can be proud of and safeguard the long-term sustainability of the football club.

Jonothan Gains added:

"I'm delighted to join the club in this role. My focus will be on ensuring the club operates as professionally and efficiently as possible, supporting everyone involved and helping create the best possible environment for our players, volunteers, staff and supporters."

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Steve Taylor who has stepped aside as Chairman of the Football Club, Steve has been fundamental in the transition in ownership and we wish him all the very best for the future.

Pre Season Friendlies - Admission Pricing

Affordable Summer Football for everyone

As the countdown to the new season continues, we're delighted to welcome supporters back for our exciting programme of pre-season friendly fixtures.

Pre-season is the perfect opportunity to see the squad in action, welcome our new signings, and enjoy football in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere before the competitive campaign begins in August. Whether you're a regular supporter or visiting for the first time, we'd love to see you at both Stockport Sports Village and The Ground Up Solutions Stadium.

Admission Prices

We've kept admission prices affordable to ensure everyone can enjoy live football this summer:

• Adults: £6

• Concessions (65+): £4

• Students (with valid ID): £3

• Under 16s: £2 (when accompanied by a paying adult)

• Under 5s: Free (when accompanied by a paying adult)

Admission is available on the gate by cash or card.

Your support throughout pre-season makes a real difference, helping the club prepare for another exciting season ahead.

𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗟𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗪𝗡 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗨𝗟 𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗡𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗔𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥/𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Turnbull as First Team Player/Manager of Cheadle Town Football Club.

Paul joins the club bringing a wealth of passion, ambition and valuable Non-League experience, having previously managed in the North West Counties Football League with Stockport Town FC. The former Stockport County player now takes charge as we begin an exciting new chapter, both on and off the pitch.

Joining Paul in the dugout will be Assistant Manager Chris Rowley and Sports Rehabilitator Oliver Brockbank, who will form part of the new management team.

Everyone at Cheadle Town would like to extend a warm welcome to Paul, Chris and Oliver, and we look forward to seeing the club continue to progress under Paul’s leadership.

Management Team - Season 2026/2027

We would also like to place on record our sincere thanks to Jack Edwards, who joined the Football Club in February under what were undoubtedly challenging circumstances.

Jack and his staff came in, steadied the ship and played a vital role in ensuring Cheadle Town retained its Step 5 status for another season. Their hard work, commitment and professionalism throughout their time at the club are greatly appreciated.

Everyone at Cheadle Town would like to thank Jack for his efforts and wish him, along with Joe, Kay, Adam and Ryan, every success for the future both on and off the pitch.
